15 Tools to Help You Create Your Next Infographic

Five to six years ago, I believe almost everybody haven't heard about infographic. In the recent year, it's now surfacing the whole web. Internet marketers are now using it as a tool to deliver their message the best way. No matter how eloquent you are as a writer. Sometimes, a single image might speak better more than a thousand words.

I know what you might be thinking "Sure infographic is cool, but I don't have the time, techniques or budget to get one."
Trust me when I say that with these tools, you don’t have to be a designer to create a high-quality, effective infographic. Does this mean there’s no place for professional designers and data? Not at all. These tools probably can’t support a full-scale infographics campaign – in that situation, you’ll probably want to look into getting a designer to put something awesome and unique together.


1.  Piktochart

Piktochart is an infographic service that allows users to choose from standard themes or create custom designs. User's are allowed to choose from seven cool free themes (and a whole bunch more for the paid version) for creating simple visualizations. Drag-and-drop and click your way through color schemes, shapes and fonts, then export the materials as static or html to easily embed it for use at your site.

2.  Visual.ly

Should i call it the most popular infographic tool? I guess it is. Visual.ly has pre-made templates which you can start with and customize with your information. They have a marketplace where you can get connected with over 35,000 visual designers and motion graphics artists who specialize in infographics.

3.  Easel.ly

Easel.ly is a web application which allows you to select and drop themes, backgrounds, objects, and text onto your canvas to create visuals.You can easily create and share visual ideas online, supported visual themes that help you get started from the preset Infographic style. It's still in beta and free. Hopefully it will continue to be free.

4.  Infogr.am

Infogr.am is another free web-base tool with over 1,500,000 pre-made themes available for use. You can import your MS Excel or CSV files directly into Infogr.am. The site lets users download the finished file as a PNG or PDF and you can also publish it for your followers on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

5.  Many Eyes

Many Eyes is a web app from IBM for data visualization. It provide many range of visualization including heatmap and view-in-context visualizations.
You can comment and discuss any visualization. Also, you can select any data on the visualization and link to it in your discussions.

6.  Venngage

Venngage help you to create stunning visual content and infographics and track their performance on social. Choose from templates, themes, and hundreds of charts and icons. Upload your own images or backgrounds, or customize a theme to suit your taste.

7.  Tableau

Tableau Public is a free tool that brings data to life. Easy to use. Spectacularly powerful. Data In. Brilliance Out. You don’t need to be a programmer or hire one – no language to learn, no Flash, no plug-ins, no API. With Tableau Public you can create interactive graphs, dashboards, maps and tables from virtually any data and embed them on your website or blog in minutes.

8.  Infoactive

This is another web-base tool for creating interactive, mobile-friendly infographics and data driven stories. You don't need to be a programmer, a designer, or a data analyst. Heck, you don't even need a tutorial. Drag and drop, rock and roll. As  claimed by the site, "You can be as big as a high-res Thunderbolt display or as portable as any smartphone. Our responsive graphics are designed to scale."

9.  Timeline JS

TimelineJS is an open-source tool that enables anyone to build visually,rich, interactive timelines. Beginners can create a timeline using nothing more than a Google spreadsheet. Experts can use their JSON skills to create custom installations, while keeping TimelineJS's core look and functionality.
It can pull in media from a variety of sources and has built-in support for Twitter, Flickr, Google Maps, YouTube, Vimeo, Vine, Dailymotion, Wikipedia, SoundCloud and more.

10.  Creately

With creately, users can create and style smart shapes and connectors. Choose from over 50 types of diagrams and thousands of examples and libraries. You can invite anyone with an email address to collaborate on your diagram in real time.

11.  Balsamiq

Balsamiq Mockups is a rapid wire-framing tool that helps you Work Faster & Smarter. It reproduces the experience of sketching on a whiteboard, but using a computer. Drag and drop tons of UI elements. Build a user interface at the speed of thought.

12.  StatSilk

StatSilk is web-base and desktop software for creating interactive maps and complex, interactive infographics.
StatSilk offers a basic free version called StatPlanet, but for more complex data you can order their premium version which have support for large data sets, logo embedding, ESRI shapefile maps, exporting graphs and maps, and many more features. 

13.  Vizualize.me

Vizualize.me is a new app (currently in Beta) that creates an infographic of your resume. It works by taking a user’s LinkedIn profile information and turns it into a professional customizable infographic. It’s a fabulous way to show off your skills, work history, expertise, connections and much more.

14.  Google Chart
